NRA Membership Fee Increase

This fall the Board of Directors, after consultation with the Membership Committee, determined it was necessary to raise the membership dues for 2012. These dues will apply in 2012 as memberships are initiated or as they come up for renewal. The new 2012 dues are:

Professional Member                                       $150/year

Student                                                          $ 48/year

New Professional

(transitional year from Student to Professional)  $108/year

Affiliate Member                                              $ 108/year

Organizational Member                                    $ 700/year

Transition Specialties Division                                    $ 40/year

The other Divisions’ dues remain unchanged.

For our Members on Monthly Bank Draft (ACH) or Monthly Payroll Deduction (PRD) the monthly increases are as follows:

Professional Member                           + $1.50/mo           or + $0.75/ half month

Student                                              + $0.50/mo           or + $0.25/ half month

New Professional (transitional

year from Student to

Professional)                                       + $1.00/mo           or + $0.50/ half month

Affiliate Member                                  + $1.00/mo           or + $0.50/ half month

Transition Specialties Division              + $0.83/mo           or + $0.42/ half month

The monthly $1.00 ACH and $0.25 PRD processing fees remain the same.

Monthly Bank Draft members do not need to take any action as the new amounts will be automatically withdrawn starting in January.

All Monthly Payroll Deduction members are asked to work with their Payroll Deduction person to see that the new amounts begin to be deducted in January, 2012.

Here are the payment methods with those that are best for NRA at the top.

1)         Online renewal - members use their username, password, and credit card at our website to renew.

2)         Online joining or renewing - members join or renew at our website (by credit card) but without using

usernames or passwords.

3)         Phone in a renewal - call me to renew over the phone by credit card.

4)         Monthly bank draft (also known as ACH)  - we automatically take out of their checking account each month

1/12 of their dues + a $1.00 processing fee each month.  (We used to offer quarterly instead of monthly, but

no longer).

5)         Payment by check (usually snail mail, but checks are inefficient (and slow) for us to process compared to a

credit card).

6)         Payment by credit card installment - we process 1/3rd the annual fee each month for 3 months and charge

$3.50 processing each month.  (This is very time consuming, prone to all kinds of troubles, and the most

inefficient payment method for us).
